If you´re asking yourself why everyone these days goes nowhere else but Miami, and you seem a little confused on what’s so special and what all the fuss is about… Get ready, here’s what Blokhaus prepared for you to know on the must-do-list for a true enjoyable art week in Miami.
This week truly appeals to everyone. an international event with numerous activities opens to the public: connoisseurs, enthusiasts and curious alike can find what they love; Pop-up fairs, exhibitions and events everywhere you look.
And you better look fast, because private collectors from all over the world will purchase a lot of the art you see in Art Basel, a leading world platform that brings together artists, collectors and galleries in three major cities around the globe. For 2022, Art Basel will be celebrating its 20th Miami anniversary at the Miami Beach Convention Center. While next door the international print dealer’s association hosts INK Art Fair mainly focusing on paper editions of the 20th century.
What a better venue than the sandy beaches of South Beach to awaken your senses in full color? Under a big tent on the beach off Ocean Drive Scope focuses on contemporary experiential innovation and discovery, and Untitled Art, brings together galleries from all over the world in an exhibition that never ceases to surprise the public with emerging artists in an effort to ensure a zero-impact presentation on the environment.
Curious exhibitions are also present like at the Aqua Hotel that assigns rooms to international galleries to showcase their recent collections on a more intimate level, or if you´re seduced by furniture design, you can´t miss Design Miami, in front of the convention center on an exhibition beyond spectacular furniture including lighting, ceramics and objects d’art.
With presence of more than 1200 art galleries in Miami and Miami Beach, Miami Art Week November 27th to December 6th promotes the appreciation of the arts hosting over 20 international fairs plus a digital platform for those virtually attending from afar.
Art Miami and Context Art offer a downtown alternative to busy Miami Beach (Biscayne and 14th) showcasing significant pieces of the 20th and 21st centuries from more than 160 leading galleries across 17 countries. Also in downtown, the NADA (New Art Dealers Alliance), a non-profit organization exhibits a generous set of new contemporary artists.
We hope you enjoy these events as much as we do at the Blokhaus team, a glamorous week with the natural beauty of South Florida as the perfect venue.
We take pride and welcome an international event to our very own backyard and invite you to see the world-class city evolving before our eyes.
